I was born and raised in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. I’m currently in my fourth year
of a Product Design course at the Academy of Amsterdam.
In my younger years, I used to play a lot with LEGOs, Knex and other construction toys.
I loved to build things and take things apart, most of the time not being able to
rebuild them again. I like to think that those wonderful days of building and exploring
were the first steps of me becoming a designer.
I have always liked to challenge myself and the people around me. I want to do better
where I can and I am eager to learn new things and skills.
In the past few years I learned to appreciate failure. Learning to conquer problems
during projects made me enjoy the process of designing more and more. I just love to keep
researching, testing and perfectioning my ideas. I think of myself as a great teamworker
with a great eye for detail. A perfectionist with a lot of passion and thrive to do
the things I love and curiosity for the yet unknown.
I believe that designers have a great influence on the future. We can make the future
look a lot brighter if we keep innovating and caring about our planet with an eye for detail
That is why my interest lay in sustainability, technology, biodesign and the circular economy.
I’m currently learning more about biology and its application in design and materials.
A big passion of me besides designing is climbing. I love the mental and physical challenge
as well as the problem solving part, which designing and climbing have in common.
